Did my first ever proper VTT sortie (mountainbike ride). Real off-road stuff with rocks, roots, and stuff. It was great, I done it easy, could have done without the Crashmeister (Uncle Stephen) nagging me actually. What he doesn’t realise is that relatively speaking the roots and rocks are much bigger for me than they are for him, and where he can see over stuff I’m only halfway up it….. I still took the lead on the downhill though. I think I might be a bit of a natural!
…..and I know we only had cycling helmets on, but i went for a razz down the lane on the back of Uncle Stephen motorbike. WWWWHHHHHHHOOOOOOOHHHHOOOOOO!!! Bloomin fast, noisy, and great!!!
It’s an old Kawasaki kh400 two-stroke triple from 1977!!! Nice bike eh?
Building on my speed work from the pevious post……….. Did a few (lots actually) laps of the village. Dad and Uncle Stephen were there, but they had to take it in turns to stay with me!!! I got Uncle Stephen to fine tune my postion on the bike…… saddle up a touch….. bars forward a touch.
Of course I couldn’t come to France without getting a few cycling miles in, and today I went out for a ride with a couple of the locals. The roads were blissfully quiet, and although there were a few climbs it was a great ride. We did two hours…. and then, just as we came back to Auntie Carla’s place I crashed into the bleedin gate!!! Doh!
Wanna see? OK, but we’re goin quick. Don’t look if you scare easy!!!
Mostly, I’ve been swimming in the swimming pool. But today, Auntie Carla and Uncle Stephen came to visit us at the campsite and me and Auntie Carla went for a swim in the lake. There’s a lovely beach to swim from, and the water is clear, and quite warm. We took some floats with us so we could relax, float around and have a chat. Auntie Carla is quite a good swimmer. Like me!
I’m on a camping trip in France at the moment. Staying on a lovely campsite next to Lac St Pardoux. The weather has been from scorching hot sunny to torrential cold all night rain, and all points in between. That hasn’t stopped me going swimming most days though. I’m making great progress. I can swim a little with no floats now. Might go for a swim in the lake tomorrow.
Here’s a picture of me and my dad paddling in the lake. Looks nice dunnit?
I’m nearly at the end of my first year in school, and I have my first ever, end of year school report. I’ve worked hard this year, and I was hoping it was a good ‘un. Anyway dad opened it and read it to mum while I waited, with fingers crossed……… It was actually OK, quite good in fact, and my daft old dad had a tear in his eye as he read.
